The Folly of Kennedy and Schumer

Saturday, July 30th, 2005

Ted Kennedy recently said he wanted to know whose side Judge Roberts was going to be on. Myself, I would like to know what side the referees are going to be on in the super bowl. What? Referees are supposed to be impartial? Yeah, I know but I want to cash a big bet on the game. Kennedy wants, well, I don’t really know what Kennedy wants. Apparently not impartial Supreme Court Judges. Maybe he wants more of our rights taken away. Remember, it was the liberal Supreme Court Justices who recently voted your personal property rights away. Why doesn’t Ted “hiccup” Kennedy spend his time speaking out against that? There is a reason. For one, he’s shown time and time again that he doesn’t care. The second reason is that Ted is really just a liberal attack dog. I’ve never seen him debate on the issues. He attacks. It’s all cheap publicity and pandering to the extreme left wing. Same ole same ole.

Right in the mold of Ted Kennedy is Senator Chuck Schumer. Schumer has displayed an absolute lack of knowledge on the three branches of government. On the tv show “Nightline” he said “The Supreme Court makes law. We hope they do it by interpreting precedent and follow the legislature. But they make the law.” Besides showing an embarrassing and disturbing lack of knowledge, it is a dangerous view. It is a liberal Supreme Court that has been stripping away your rights. Yet, people like Chuck Schumer choose to speak out against people with character rather than the ones perverting justice. They claim to be out for the little guy. But when it comes down to actually standing up and doing something, they are nowhere to be found. That is true liberalism.

The Pope Forgets Israel?

Tuesday, July 26th, 2005

On Sunday, Pope Benedict XVI gave a speech denouncing terrorism in Britain, Egypt, Turkey and Iraq. He failed to mention a terrorist attack against Israel which killed 5 less than 2 weeks prior. It shouldn’t need mentioning, but apparently it does for many, that the Jews are the most persecuted of all people in the history of mankind. Hard to believe anyone could forget, but we’ll give the Pope a pass on that one. Likely just a careless mistake, but with such blatant anti-Semitism in high places these days, one can’t help but wonder.

In regards to Israel and the Jews, it never ceases to amaze me how people can make excuses for terrorists and then bash the Jews. If we’re gonna play the excuse game then there isn’t much Israel could do that wouldn’t be justified given what they have been through.

**note: The prophet St. Malachy predicted before his death that there would be 112 more popes before the return of Christ. He apparently accurately listed characteristics of each pope up to the present time. We are now on pope 111, who is 78 years old. With everything seemingly in place, it bears keeping an eye on any pope from this point on. Especially if you start seeing a watered down version of Christianity or “One World Faith” approach from the pope… We are already seeing the watered down version of Christianity in many places. I mean we have homosexual priests who say the bible does not speak out against such things. The name Jesus is not politically correct. Please replace it with just a generic “God”. Even the word Christmas is no longer used by many stores and political leaders. “Happy holidays” and “seasons greetings” show up more and more each year without even a mention of Christmas. Pay attention at Christmas time. I mean, during “the holidays”. Remember, you gutless politically correct out there, it’s “seasons greetings”, not Merry Christmas.

Michael Moore - Aid and Comfort to the Enemy

Michael Moore - Traitor

An old petition at conservative petitions.com I just stumbled upon has 5,875 signatures to brand Michael Moore as a traitor. While I don’t expect treason charges against this vermin any time soon, it never hurts to remember those who have provided aid and comfort to the enemy in a time of war. Lest they fool us in the future with more lies and rhetoric. How soon we do seem to forget. Moore made a lot of money appealing to the hate crowd and to the naive. In any other time period I think he would have been charged with treason. I guess it speaks for the times we live in. The only groups that can be called into question these days are Christians and Jews. Liberalism and political correctness dictate that we need to be nice to traitors and those killing in the name of Allah. You’ve come to the wrong place if you are looking for understanding and justification for those who murder innocent people.

*note: I will be making similar posts in the future about anti-Americans. Someone needs to hold their feet to the fire. How many deaths have been and will be caused by those who have encouraged terrorists by denouncing those who defend freedom and “understanding” those who actually commit the murders of the innocent?

Hollywood Collapse

Friday, July 15th, 2005

With Hollywood movie attendance tanking for about 20 straight weeks, people are searching for the reasons why. Let’s not overlook the brewing scandal with Dreamworks who is under investigation for insider trading and is warning of 2nd quarter losses… Despite the latest Star Wars movie and other expected summer blockbusters, Hollywood is in a bad way. There are a lot of excuses being made for this. Everything from people staying home watching videos to microwave popcorn. First of all, is everybody staying home? Have you been to the mall lately or out to eat? As a rule people aren’t going to the movies quite as much. Plain and simple. The question is why?

The obvious reason is that movie quality over the past few years has been terrible. People are tired of shelling out money for overhyped movies and going home disappointed. There are only a handfull of movies each year that even spark my interest. Have you noticed that it is now a rare occurence for a movie to be #1 for more than a few weeks? Didn’t used to be that way. Possibly the biggest reason is that people are getting tired of the same old recycled hollywood people that they keep shoving in our faces. Many of whom have dissed America time and time again. All this was quite predictable really. See my article from December 2002 titled Hollywood Anti-Americans. They spend millions propping these people up and no matter how many duds they put out there, they keep bringing them back. Simply from the standpoint of larger population and the enormous amount of money spent on promoting these movies, there is no positive spin that can be accepted for the decline in Hollywood…..

But then failure seems to be rewarded in hollywood. you are rewarded more for being a liberal than by putting out profitable movies. Academy awards are not based on performance. Well, maybe a token 10% is just to pass themselves off as credible. It’s about pushing an anti-Christian agenda. Really you can boil it down to that can’t you? I don’t remember a time when it wasn’t. You are told who you are supposed to like. There are healthy alternatives out there. But on the flipside, you can make money in Hollywood and be an outcast if you don’t tow the company line.

Hollywood is the only industry where you can be considered a top performer no matter how many times in a row you cost your company money. After all, in most businesses it’s about profit. Right? In hollywood it is about gross earnings. The gross gives you hype and hype gives you power. That’s what Hollywood really is about isn’t it? Profitabilty numbers are real hard to come by when it comes to the entertainment industry. Saying box office gross is the standard is like saying that an athlete should be MVP regardless of performance because he has the highest salary. Doesn’t matter if they flop and their team falters. They are “stars”. In Hollywood you are not supposed to know about promotion and production costs.

**notes:

**The Dukes of Hazzard may wind up being the movie of the summer. Look forward to that one. I believe that is out in August and could propel Jessica Simpson to megastar status. Her legs look good so how bad can it be? Just bring earplugs to be on the safe side… If you are not a guy or if you are married, this paragraph should not apply to you.

**The Passion of the Christ is still the highest grossing R Rated and winter movie of all time. Yet look at all the free publicity the political hack michael moore got from his “movie” based on deception, farenheit 911. A movie that could have been made by a drunk high school kid with a cheap camcorder.

**A good way to compare older classic movies to the new ones is from the site boxofficemojo.com which takes inflation into consideration. I don’t think population and promotion dollars are factored in. Really the bottom line isn’t how much the movie takes in but how much profit was there, right? You seldom hear that figure. But with the site above you can at least get a barometer of what the most popular movies of all time are. If I get something that actually takes profit into consideration I will pass that on. Perhaps I can do some homework and put one together sometime myself.

When You Attack the Wrong People

Thursday, July 7th, 2005

Terrorists found out after 9/11 that the response from a superpower with a strong leader can be far more than they bargained for. I expect they will find this out again after the cowardly attacks in London. This time it will be Tony Blair who will show what a strong and honorable leader can do. From what I have observed, Tony Blair is as tough as they come. The good citizens of the United States are grateful to have him as an ally.

“We the British are a people that stand by our friends in time of need, trial and tragedy, and we do so without hesitation now.”
Tony Blair, speech to Parliament, September 14, 2001

“We, therefore, here in Britain stand shoulder to shoulder with our American friends in this hour of tragedy, and we, like them, will not rest until this evil is driven from our world.”
Tony Blair in support of America after 9/11

“It is important, however, that those engaged in terrorism realise that our determination to defend our values and our way of life is greater than their determination to cause death and destruction to innocent people.”
Tony Blair, following the London subway terrorist attacks, July 7,2005

The Mother of All Political Battles Has Begun!

Friday, July 1st, 2005

News is spreading of the retirement of Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor, setting up a political battle the likes never before seen. This is the first of what could be several openings in the near future. If you think you’ve seen crazy political rhetoric before, you ain’t seen nothin yet! This will prove to be the political equivalent of a steel cage match. Believe me, it’s on! The smokescreens and scare tactics will be flying. You are about to see a meltdown by the liberals in Washington of historical proportion. It will be entertaining but also frightening as well.

With some of the contradictory and perhaps unconstitutional decisions made in recent years, the importance of these appointments cannot be overstated. We are about to see what President Bush is made of. Will he stand firm and take the heat as he has in the war on terror or will he try to make everyone happy? If the Consititution is to survive the coming assaults, he must make the right decisions. The greatness of his Presidency is on the line. Even more importantly, the future of our Country hangs in the balance.
